Off course, if you form LLC with other partners than your wife, that's a different ball game.Don't sweat it too much - you'll pay all that lawyers, accountants etc but it's really not that bad.Besides, when you contact official instances like city, county etc - it's more safe to use EIN rather than your SSN. 

I could envision something even better where I would have multiple locked file cabinets where each tenant has one assigned where he could store his official company books.

Hi Nat,You need to check your original contract with your PM that spells out duties and official means of contact.The contract for example should say that e-mail, written, fax is official communication.If your contract didn't say e-mail was an acceptable form of notice to give PM the right to do something then the position is weaker.
