I was looking into the Residential Landlord and Tenant ordinance but it was unclear to me if my situation applies to it since it states "The ordinance covers most rental properties located in Chicago except units in owner-occupied buildings with six units or less; most units in hotels, motels and rooming houses, dormitories, shelters, employees' quarters, and non-residential rental properties, and owner-occupied co-ops". 

Your lender probably cannot sell a non owner occupied loan to GSE's right now so they implemented a prepay penalty in a backwards way by requiring the floor of their rate sheet to be two points.

I've been able to use this method for clients who quit their jobs before trying to buy, though this was for owner-occupied loans. 

An FHA loan is for owner occupied.

My business would occupy one unit, and I'd rent the rest. 

Btw they occupied the unit for a total of 20 days and yet they’re able to basically harass me continuously with this garbage.
