I have buddies in western PA getting SFR through the county Tax Repository sales for $500-2,500 each.

I live in Halesite (north of Huntington Village) and am looking to find the right property in a market I understand and know well.  

Besides the 2 East MA REIA meetings you heard about in that other thread, there is the Black Diamond meeting in Waltham (2nd location in Worcester) that @Ann Bellamy organizes, there is the Boston AREIA in Medford, @Justin Silverio runs a quarterly unofficial BP meetup in (Woburn though the next meeting is onsite at a just completed project in Reading), the NEREIA in Chelmsford, on the North Shore @Mike Hurney has a couple meetings and there are a few other options as well.
