Shelby County Inspectors are strict so I will probably avoid area next time.

Hi All,I just went under contract for a multi in Oak Lawn and am shopping for home inspectors.

I've found if you're proactive with the city inspectors and show you're trying to meet code and they're intent, they will work with you. 

Do you mean bring an inspector for the first walkthrough ? 

I know that I have a couple of options, back away from the offer or request seller to drain water so that my inspector can go back to inspect crawlspace and possibly even hire a wet basement specialist to come take a look and see how the water is getting into the crawlspace.

Day of inspection comes, and the inspector shows up with his tools in a 5 gallon HD bucket.  

You will learn more by meeting everyone at the home from inspectors to renovation trades to screening renters. 

I'm scared that the city inspector will come at that time and they will ask me to tear it down.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a certified lead inspector in Philadelphia to perform this type of work?
