Ultimately, I'm looking for increased cash flow and, eventually, financial independence.

But there are opportunities in Brooklyn (but perhaps not in neighborhoods you want to live in, depends on your commute preferences, etc) to do what you've described and have nearly all of your mortgage paid for.

Isnt that what financial independence is really about?

So sorry you ran into this and had to ask.If you can document that all your contacts for the transactions were outside the current brokerage, you can ack independently - - at a cost - - you may have to defend yourself.I would seek arbitration with the State Board and go from there. 

My goal in real estate is essentially slowly build my net worth up so I can have financial independence and then try to maximize cash flow.  

Should both parties be named independently?
