Maybe not now, but once you have enough gas in the tank so to speak, and can put that plan to work in real estate.Ultimately, the best thing for you to do would be to sit down with a good fee based financial planner (not one who earns commissions on what they sell, but who you pay for their guidance) and draw up a short/mid/long term strategy.

After defaulting, it takes another year for the bank to foreclose and auction off your home.It's not like property values tanked immediately in 2008: it's just that no one was buying and no one was selling because no one could get a mortgage.

I figured as such.Overall, I was just trying to make sure a title search isn't something I can do myself, once I heard that all they do is a FOIA request (assuming that's true).Even if they question 3 or 4 departments, I'm sure that's something my assistant could do, since all the info is probably public record, it's normally a matter of just knowing what to look for, and knowing how to analyze said information.I'm not desperate financially by any means, but if I can save $400, and have my assistant do this stuff in their normal duties, I've saved a couple tanks of gas.

Often a handyman can do work for much less if you have a list of items to get done eg. install toilet, install cabinets, install hot water tank, tile a bathroom, drywall one bedroom, painting a few walls etc. etc.

The current landlord had informed his realtor that a big reason he includes utilities is to make sure the gas tank doesn't go empty and his tenants choose to use space heaters (fire hazard) instead of the forced air that runs on gas, since they don't pay for electric.

Currently a decent amount of space is unusable due to this mechanical closet that is just to contain the furnace and water tank if I'm getting rid of the furnace, I might as well get rid of the whole room and have more living space.
