New to BP from Sydney, Australia

Hi Everyone!

I am John. I am formerly from Toledo, Ohio and am now living in Sydney, Australia for my full-time job in the Big Data space. I was introduced to BP after looking for Real Estate books on amazon. The kindle version of Introduction Guide popped to the top as was FREE so I gave it a download. I am just through the first chapters, but I wanted to get started on the forum ASAP.

My interest in real estate comes from the fact that I want to start owning assets that appreciate over time and create positive cashflow! I feel learning and acting on real estate will be a good use of my free time, money and energy. I also enjoy the idea of owning big, tangible things around the world, as my work takes me to different places, and everywhere I go/leave, I would enjoy having some property to come visit again and a reason to go back.

So I am really starting from scratch, wanting to learn what I don't know, take action, and make mistakes and success.

Thanks for the read. I appreciate any tips or advice you may have for getting started.

Cheers,

John

From what I understand the RE market in Sydney is still in fantasy land. I guess that was what you get from a China fuel commodity boom over the past decade.

I would not buy a property there for all the Vegemite in the world!
