They are poor business operators.  

In other words, if you’re think today’s overall homebuying conditions are sustainable (I’ll bet you sell real estate), you’d argue the top of the rankings are simply the nation’s “hottest” markets.

      - Rich Dad Poor Dad.

If accomplished, enhancing the latter would be great.Much of what I have learned so far has come from American sources like 'The Book on Rental Property Investing' by Brandon Turner, 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' by Robert Kiyosaki, Real estate books written by Ken McElroy, and of course the Bigger Pockets podcasts. 

Selling it would probably be your best bet.

Read Rich Dad Poor Dad if you haven't already.

Call the electric company and ask them, that is going to be your best bet to make sure you're in the clear.

I bet you can’t never get him to fix anything when it breaks.

It's amazing how well even a lackluster deal can work out over time, and I'd bet that yours is better than my first one :) 

If you have yet to read a book on real estate or find that the idea isn't really for you, then I recommend you start with 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' and 'The richest man in Babylon' since they are both written as novels but can help change your mindset.Good luck.
