More than ever, I want to pursue my dream of becoming a successful RE investor, but I have found that it will be very difficult to start in Australia for various market and legal reasons.My hometown of Houston, Texas, on the other hand, seems to be a great place for RE investing with low entry barriers, plus I have a lot of friends and family there to help support my efforts.  

We already achieved our dreams of full-time travel.

I've own a vacant lot (2.88 acres) in San Diego, Poway (great location) and originally wanted to build my dream home but it's been over 2 1/2 yrs and barely getting thru the city for permits.. almost there!!  

Being that price in NYC are prohibitively expensive (let's not even go there... lol) I realize my dream of home ownership (as in my own brownstone or row home) will probably never happen here an that is okay.Initially I was thinking about sub30k properties but I just don't want to put that much work in for a property I probably wouldn't keep for 30+ years.So I've been looking at places to buy in the near future.

The 2 million route is money out of your own pocket.The American Dream and 401Ks are the biggest frauds perpetrated on Americans.

I feel like even if I found my dream deal, I wouldn't pull the trigger and buy.

Think about the folks that fulfill their lifelong dream of rescuing animals big and small by doing rescues and opening up sanctuaries.

I even put 5 million into escrow to close a Indy Mac tape that never happened.finally gave up on these pipe dreams to many BS artist out there..

Hello,I originally became interested in Real Estate Investing about 20 years ago but before I got things going I got a job that dominated my time for 19 years so my dream got put on a shelf.  

However, if you don't get your financing lined up, the dream won't get off the ground, so make THAT your first priority.Good luck to you and let us know when you get that first deal!
