It’s hard to compare the walled garden of a chain hotel with a house in Oakland, no matter where it is.

Rent is probably not going to replace feeding her children (nor should it) on her priority chain, but it should be more important than the electricity bill or car payment, let alone discretionary spending like eating out or going on vacation.You'll find a lot more satisfaction in the rental game if you treat it with a modicum of compassion, rather than being the Dickensian monster that many people think of when they hear the word "landlord". 

Although I've never used any, some fast food chains have apps that let you connect to your bank account and pay for your order through their app.

There is no waiting list for senior citizen homes/cha in Chicago.

I've got it in my pet lease that dogs cannot be chained.

Government folks, on the other hand, have a chain of command and UCMJ to keep them accountable.

They get three meals, a living area with TV to watch the Novelas.

We piece mealed renovations on the other 3 apartments and still have more renovation to go for those 3 apartments.  

I would look to add value for this higher rent by allowing easier lease breaking, providing monthly cleaner ( also a way to keep eyes on the property) monthly home cooked meal in the home and a driver for one night a month.

I hadn't even thought about the entire food chain.
