Chicago Section 8 Application for Inherited Eldery Tenant

Howdy,

I inherited an tenant. He is a senior citizen and claims never received a dime from the government.  I doubt it.

Unfortunately, his current income won't allow him to stay in my unit.  It's way below market price.   I also need to renovate this unit.  It is by no means safe.  The prior owner didn't upkeep the place.

Drama:

The prior owner was his step son. He left me the dirty work to kick him out. There are no books that can properly train anyone to do this. He rejected the vacant possession contingency to avoid conflicts with him.

Assistance:

Can you please put me in contact with someone that could expedite his section 8 application in the South Side of Chicago?  How else can he increase his income?  He truly needs assistance.

He can stay with friends until either of the units is ready for the market.   He has been a long time resident and wants to stay.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I guess, now I got the Landlord hat and Social Worker one...

Thanks,

Frank
