Was previously living in the Bay Area.

The San Francisco bay area is extremely tenant friendly.

We also have a 3 car garage in our backyard and currently rent out 2 of the 3 bays (keeping 1 for personal use) for 200 each.

Assuming you have settled on multi-family, why not just invest in a stock like Avalon Bay instead of a syndication?

@Josh CookI know the framing's in place but in case anyone's looking for tips on insulating basement walls to create finished space and finds this thread: polyiso foam board with a reflective front and an interior vapor barrier with the reflective barrier facing out for the rim joist bays and the wall, glued in place with construction adhesive, the foam walls sealed with Tyvek tape and the bays with Great Stuff foam.

After a long time lurking and finally finding a property to start with, its time to be a part of this great community.My wife and I are based out of East Bay California and are primarily interested in rentals. 

We are relatively new to the Tamba Bay area and still working on our investing strategy.
