New Investor in East Bay California

Hello All,

My name is Brandon and I am just getting my feet wet in the world of real estate investing.  My wife and I have been interested in real estate as a means of financial freedom for a couple of years now, and we've spent that time voraciously consuming all of the content we can find on the subject (especially on Bigger Pockets).  After a long time lurking and finally finding a property to start with, its time to be a part of this great community.

My wife and I are based out of East Bay California and are primarily interested in rentals.  It seemed that this market made it impossible for us to find a deal and had been looking at other markets instead.  This worried us as remote investing seemed risky for new timers with no connections and minimal travel availability (jobs).  We finally found a house in Livermore that fit our cash flow requirements and had an offer accepted! So now starts our journey as real estate investors.

We've done our best to complete all due diligence we can on our deal, but are still unsettled as the down payment is a major portion of our net worth.  Is this the correct section to discuss details of this deal?

Looking forward to being a part of this great community!
