The issue with this is that I will need to be finding a loan without a job.

My question is, with rising taxes, anti-landlord regulations, stagnant job growth, and people leaving the area, is it still a good idea to buy an investment property here?

We did a good quality job in Baltimore City. 

My wife has a full time job that pays roughly $50k but I’m the stay at home dad who’s homeschooling our kids.

Hi, I make $50k per year and have $25 thousand in savings, unfortunately I file a 1099 and not a W-2 so my question here is, what sort of hurdles would I face while trying to get started in real estate while continuing my job as an independent contractor here in Los Angeles, Ca.? 

I'm 24, I work a pretty decent job that allows me to save a bit each week after paying my bills.

I have been working the job for 1 year and am interested in starting my own property management company from scratch.

A couple small pieces of advice when selecting contractors I would offer which is used in the commercial world is to always make sure you have (3) bids per job and level their scopes of work to make sure they are ‘apples to apples’.

Someone gave me that advice and I listened to them. 6 months later I quit my job and have been doing this full time since '16 now. wouldn't have it any other way.
