short term rentals are not only vacation homes, nurses, workers, consultants, family, etc. all use short term rentals in traditionally non vacation marketsMaybe so, but a true vacation rental in a tourist area is going to do better than in an area where you best bet is to get a traveling nurse for a few months.

I've been in that situation before and it sucks.Now, you might feel that your only choices are to either get mistreated while being $3000 lighter, or to take the money and potentially let other people get screwed because you didn't warn them.But there might be a third option if you can convince the business owner that negative reviews can be turned into positive results.Point out that all businesses, even the best ones, make mistakes and receive bad reviews.But the best businesses work with their customers to fix the problem and have the review edited to reflect that.

@Alex Appolonia I'm sure there are others here who have more detailed information on this, but in case no one responds, I can say this is an evolving area and your best bet is to contact the Narragansett and South Kingstown building officials.I know that in Narragansett regular rentals require an application/permit and it seems that short-term rentals do too but I can't seem to find the form for that on the town site and it may still be in-progress so I would recommend calling them.

Anywhere closer to eastern, or even out in Mansfield in between eastern and uconn will be your better bet.
