I don't have background in real estate at the moment, I work a full time job to pay the bills as a Security Officer for retail businesses in NYC and am looking to fund my escape using Real Estate Investments as the vehicle for that. 

I just don't own anything in my name, even my vehicles.

In the short term I would like to get started in wholesaling and use that as a vehicle to build up cash for further real estate ventures down the line.

So now i have this vehicle and goal to work towards, it has given me renewed hope and optimism for a 'deskjob-free' life that i've always looked for.Based on the what i've read thus far, I think i will focus on Buy-n-Hold strategy for now with an emphasis on multi-family.

Think about it: If you can put your money into a savings vehicle that earns 7% and you can borrow AGAINST IT at 5%, any return greater than 5% with those loan proceeds will be value created on top of what the cash value is earning. 

It seems like the right vehicle for laying out maintenance, payments, rent collection, and inheritance issues as well.  

So yes, if you could get behind a property with a vehicle, you could easily pull it off the base and get to it, but that was just a suggestion.

In fact, I just realized that this is actually a career and that people are doing this as a vehicle to create financial freedom.
