The issue is that if you buy traditionally, the rent you can get for many homes in high price to rent ratios will not cash flow so it will be painful to hold (i.e.

Being an election year though, I think current and future administrations will do their best to prop up the economy (even if it is falsely propped) for the next year.

Of course, this isn't as wise with larger properties...You need to determine how much risk you are willing to take and how much your want to pay, both in direct costs and administrative time, to layering up with LLC's.
