Hi Gabrielle,Welcome to BP, this is a great website and resource for all types of real estate investing.I always recommend these 3 things to people beginning in Real Estate Investing:1) Do a lot of research here2) Do not spend a lot of money with coaches, it would be much better to put that money to work and learn from experience, I'm not against coaches or education, but you need to be careful as there are some that are really bad3) There are many real estate clubs out there, visit them, select your favorites and meet other investors working your area.

Signed up for Rich Dad coaching, since Kiosaki's books are the reason I decided to get into real estate in the first place, and now hoping to become and active member on the forum.

Sponsor a Little League team or volunteer to coach kids or do Habitat for Humanity, etc.

I have a few other areas of expertise as well, but I don't advise in taxes or dating matters really, LOL.BP is full of coaches, mentors, gurus and predatory wolves, do your due diligence.

My thoughts on the mentorship / coaching is to find someone on location, wherever you reside so that they can be able to meet-up with you in person and have that true one on one contact.

I Have been interested REI since childhood but it is only this year that I am able to actually jump in and make my first purchase after some preparation Which I know won’t be enough, like taking an expensive coaching course, podcasts watching, lots of reading, much of it on this forum but just as an observer, deciding what strategy suits me best and paying off my home to use it equity as capital.The strategy I decided to adopt is to buy and hold modest single family homes purchased for $30,000 or less.I know that distance is an additional challenge I am going to confront, but with the help of one of my daughters willing to be active on the field along with solid property management I am going to get it started.I am unable to attend any REIA meetings so I will rely heavily on education available in this community as I have seen it to be very solid and supportive.
