West Palm Beach has become a desired place to live, coupled with the weather more and more corporate headquarters is calling Downtown West Palm Beach Home.

I suppose I could keep significant reserves to weather these storms, but my point is STRs in vacation only markets are “hospitality”, NOT “housing” (which has traditionally been a less volatile asset class than hospitality).

Plus Milwaukee is in the Midwest and gets pretty terrible weather, which will hurt booking performance.

I am experienced in underwriting properties risks in crime, flooding, and extreme weather, and developer experience related factors.

My thought process is it seems generally better to pay down the mortgage and reduce overall interest paid over time, but then the forecast of a looming interest rate hike makes me think I should just save that money in savings account until I can use it toward a down payment on the next property?

This wouldn’t be needed since you’re not going to expose to ocean weather or atmosphere.  

Don't know what it takes for maintenance in snowy weather, but I do enjoy getting out to the empty Poconos during the winter just to slow things down.

The trend has mostly followed forecast with asterisks for a systemic, geopolitical or unforeseen financial calamity.

That way, she can move in spring when weather is better.
