This place is a great platform and resource for someone like me.Also if someone is a complete newbie all I have to say is hang in there and you will start seeing the results.

If you live near a university, SabbaticalHomes is a wonderful resource.

I feel confident in my ability to find deals with the resources I have available to me and my marketing background.However, I realize a lot of investors don’t have that and have other ways of doing so.

There are likely to be a TON in your area (check meetup.com for one resource), and I'm sure the individuals who attend are just as friendly and willing to chat as the events I have attended. 

In So-Cal you have to have energy efficiency calculations and there are other costs that you don't realize until you get into it.
