Lets face it,  you can file anything with the IRS until the little bit of person-power they have left bothers to look at  your return --- not advocating tax fraud here...Even in the prior example, $2mil in damages is covered by a small umbrella policy.

If you just leave a window open and it rains and damages your property that won’t be covered, but if a wind gust blows the window out and rains comes in as a result that would be covered.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the siding while its a little ugly to have the bubbling but water intrusion isn't possible unless its so poorly installed it blows up in the wind and allows access to the wall behind.
