I grew up in Northern Indiana -- and where I was (middle part - Elkhart area) is very dependent on the RV industry which is doing great now, but when it goes down, the whole area is down. 

Grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN with a 3/1. 15 years later the parents finished the basement to make it a 4/2. 

I grew up in NYC, moved to  the Syracuse area a few decades ago when I was 14.I work in IT management and graduated a year ago from Syracuse University's MBA program. 

I also grew up in construction (literally on a different job site daily lol)  my parents are both very successful contractors and built themselves from the ground up.

@Theresa Harris They did maintain it sometimes (in the summer when they grew vegetables) but I don't believe they were happy when I cut down the trees in the lot (had to they were just really overgrown and not manageable).

Hi, I grew up in a hispanic household who thought me to have a good job and work hard to keep it till retirement.

Older homes are the most difficult ones to work with but the most fun for me....I grew up in a 200 year old home and cut my "handyman" teeth working on them.

But of course there isn't the income coming in usually...unless maybe you put a billboard or cell phone tower etc on it.. and there are taxes to be paid. well I grew up in the land business so that's what I know.. today everyone is brain washed with it has to cash flow and appreciation is gambling.. so be that as it may.. yes I have done very well with land and determining where I believe markets may go.Plus I was a top producing RE agent so I really did not need cash flow .. what was 200 bucks a month going to do for me..

I grew up "up the road a piece" and know that LR has had some spinnys, but nothing to compare with OKC, Tulsa, Joplin, and continuing on in that band across the region.
