Hi Everyone. Been lurking here a while and gleaned tons of info, hope I can share some as well at some point.

I live in Syracuse, Eastwood area. Been studying, reading books, listening to podcasts, researching rents and real estate sales for multi-families in the Syracuse area for over a year. I also created a spreadsheet for analyzing the deals that turned out to be very similar to the rent calculator that BP provides, but doesn't have the fancy graphs. I have been loading theoretical deals into that as well over the past year and gradually refining my assumptions. I have financing and cash lined up now and am interested in long term, buy and hold investments to generate cash flow in retirement. I am ready to take the plunge on my first of what I hope to be many rentals!

I am fine with rehabbing and holding a rental as well, and after I get a few of those under my belt, I may consider flipping.

I have owned two very old houses in the area and remodeled both pretty much from top to bottom, just put in the second new bathroom in my current residence. I can do most of the work myself, but not against hiring contractors either as I have for my own homes.

I grew up in NYC, moved to  the Syracuse area a few decades ago when I was 14.

I work in IT management and graduated a year ago from Syracuse University's MBA program.

Hope to have a picture soon, but trust me, you're not missing much!
