Currently I have one rental property in Houston, but my apartment lease in Denver is about to end and I'm hoping to buy a primary residence to house hack (either a multi-unit or by renting extra bedrooms).

I did draw out  all of the cash before losing them and started investing in Houston.  

I decided I would do it by using my county tax assessors office (Harris) here in Houston Tx. 

Bay ownership.I have a property I own in Rohnert Park ( 4 acres) zoned mixed use resi.. its right next to the Graton casino.. there is huge housing shortage in your area ... so rentals will stay absolutely full year in and year out.. plus you should get some increase in rents.. but the worse is you make some cash flow.. and your tenants pay down your mortgage and the next thing you know its 20 years later and you have millions in TRUE Equity.. that's one way to go

Advice: Join the RICH club in Houston to network with the other LOCAL pros, because my rei career took off when I joined AIREO in Dallas, which is no longer an active rei club, but in the 90s it was the only club in the metroplex, and it was pretty good.
