I complained to the warranty people at Schlage and they sent me a new lock with little hassle (which is awesome) but that one has the same issue.The last point is the reason I am hesitant to purchase a Schlage Encode (the Wi-Fi variety as apposed to zwave).

@Alexander SmallI'd like to commend you on your big-picture mindset and vision...I wish I would have been thinking the way you are when I was 19 years old.From a lender perspective, there are a variety of considerations that immediately come to mind based on your situation:- Your current income may enable you to purchase a single-family home, but the price point on a multi-family here in San Antonio likely will push your DTI above the limits of qualifying. 

Overall, I think you should analyze a variety of factors that align with your investing mission to ensure your goals are being met...rather than a superficial number like "per door CF." ...but if you had to pin it down: $285+ is a good target.
