I am a pet person myself, however, I am unsure if I'll allow pets in my rental properties due to untrained pets, which results in further damage and maintenance.

Maybe I'm colored by my market and bad experiences, but I just can't see paying for the "privilege"of a landlord who can sell the house and send me packing, who can hassle me for being too loud, having guests, smoking or pets, and who can refuse to make improvements that I might desire.

I posted about the tons of changes that are happening next year and Charles knocked them out in a separate thread.Given that both parties want their own pet taxation changes how will we ever get to a simpler, less intrusive tax code?

I do not call it "pet rent" or "non-refundable pet fee".

If it's a high-traffic backyard with pets and kids, they will chew up new grass in no time.

The MAJORITY of travelers travel with pets.

I do have a pet agreement that says things like the pet is spayed, is indoor only, they will clean up all pet waste, they are responsible if there are any fleas, all pets on leashes outside, and maybe a few other things I’ve thought up.

and even then you can still have optional grill, pet, pool heating fees etc.  

Keep in mind, sometimes I screw up and have to have people resign something, or someone wants to add a new roommate, or someone wants a new pet, etc.  

But when we decided to move back to the Seattle area, I rented it out for $2,145($50 pet rent included).
