Consider freshening your pictures, they most certainly are not bad, but once the snow is gone, and the sun is out the place will look way more inviting.

My parent did not do that to me and my numerous siblings out of choice- and they provided us with a big house.

Or find out if they like some activities (baseball, basketball, hockey) you could invite them to a game or gift them a pair of tickets so they can enjoy the game with their kid or significant other.
