This causes issues when trying to use a VA loan, as some sellers don't like government backed lending.

However, depending on where you are located, the local jurisdiction may give the landlord probably cause to evict, if in fact there is proven drug activity taking place. 

Maybe over the long haul it will work, but definitely causes a lot of anxiety in the meantime.   

I've received several conflicting answers from lenders regarding the possibility of purchasing a home here in CA using FHA, since I still own the rental in Indiana that was purchased under an FHA mortgage.

I've heard the number one claim against these policies is for water damage....to the unit BELOW the source of the water leak.

I would like to litigate to try to recoop some of my damages but don’t want to do so in vain.

It also damages all real estate sectors by reducing the potential number of lenders (for example, the CMBS conduit market for mobile home parks and apartments disappeared altogether for a while after 2007).

Nothing was lost, as anything that was damaged was well compensated at the small claim court.
