Being a newby investor myself, though, I took the advice I received in the BP investor's guide and decided to enter the real estate world by taking the 63 hour real estate licensing course for Florida. 

I am now halfway through the "Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing" and it seems that one of the most important things I have to do is to find a mentor.
