I just don't think that a non attorney would have received the same deference without spending $1,500 to have an attorney argue the case.  

@Jay Hinrichs I was just arguing with someone the other day about the thought process behind renting versus buying here in Kokomo.Last year, our city administration decided it would be a great idea for a company from Indy to develop 180+ high-end, luxury apartments near downtown Kokomo with retail space on the street level.

I would argue the primary focus off an appraisal is to protect the lenders interests and a bi product of that is protecting the buyer's interest.  

No sane person can argue that agents aren't getting a piece of the pie.

I don't know whether it can delay eviction; I suspect you could argue that it should not, since the tenant is indicating the rental unit is not safe for the child(ren) so they should want to get out of there ASAP to someplace safer. 

To those who argue that if you are getting a better ROI in RE, you should do that instead of repay the debt, what do you say?

Regarding your second point, I would argue it is only foolish to someone who isn't planning on owning the building for a long period of time.

A lot of people will argue on price, but start to do the math on how much beds, frames, sofas, tables, chairs, TVs, rugs, art, kitchen supplies, and all the other nick nacks cost and it is not cheap.

When we asked him to leave, he started arguing with us that he is legally living there as he paid the rent every month.
