So if 'north and south' of my house (or the room I'm laying it in if only one room) is longer than 'east/west', I lay the flooring in a 'north/south' pattern.

I explained that putting her on the lease makes her liable for the rent and damages as well, so it actually protects him (while giving me one more person to go after if it goes south).

I live in a college town (South Bend - Notre Dame) so it may be a good market for out of town investors.
