New member in Kansas City, Grandview area

Hello everyone! I am taking the dip into the pool of the BiggerPockets community and I wanted to introduce myself.  

I am a current owner of 9 properties here in the South KC area as well as 1 in North Carolina under a separate company. Two of my properties here in South KC are duplex units.  I have been investing in real estate since 2003, starting first as a way to invest money to not have to pay so much in tax.  In my former occupation as a stocks and options trader there was plenty of cash flow to do this.  I retired from trading in 2010 and started full time investing in 2011 after taking a year off.

To date we, as a family, have a goal of owning 20 properties free and clear and enjoying the passive income from them to travel the world, do what we want, and enjoy life! We are ecstatic at the possibilities in South KC for real estate.

We have also flipped several properties as well and this is definitely something I will be doing more of in the future.  I am always in the market for a good deal and usually buy my houses at the courthouse steps.  All of our properties are completely rehabbed and very nice to live in.  Our tenant retention rates are 100% for the last 3 years! We have found a niche in the market and will continue to invest into this area! Anyways, hello everyone!
