I am in Nova Scotia for a week in August so I am going to take a drive out to identify the areas I want to invest in.

My accountant sat down with me early on and taught me the basics.

My basic advice is to pick a strategy and ignore all the many other real estate investing possibilities for a while until you have worked your strategy of choice successfully for a while.If you want to do flips, do you really feel you have the will to do that?

I had no idea what this REI stuff was all about and had basically stuck my head in the sand because I live in the Bay Area. 

Direct mail, driving for dollars, pay per click, bandit signs and the list goes on and on. 

I’d keep it very basic with pressure treated framing, plywood door, and mesh chicken wire between the units.  

RE agent answer the calls , show the house , and collects applications. does some basic screening from his point of view , more insight you get from the agent per applicant is better for you6. you get the applications, do your own due diligence with your own set of requirements (who knows you better then yourself??)

I won't skip over that it was a bit boneheaded on my part, but it basically came down to that I can calculate principle and interest given the loan amount, term, and interest rate.

I want to get in the rental property business with the 4plex etc.Which books do you recommand for get the good basics?
