It definitely got pricy, as we found active knob-and-tube and a hodgepodge of DIY wiring and decided to pull the knob-and-tube instead of going for a junction box.

One more idea, you could use a Home Depot "project loan" to get up to 25k of your materials and some of the labor for things they install for 6 months with no payments or interest until after the 6 months.

If you are tiling the tub surround it is very likely that the installer will drop a tile that will chip the tub.

You could always do it yourself with a wordpress install.

Probably because the Realtor is aware of who the lender is and the circumstances and knows that some Sub-2, or installment/assumption deal is not going to solve the problem, it takes a cash sale or a short sale or the owner needs to head toward a loan modification.

No personal experience with a doing this in a multi-family but would be interested in the answer as we are in a similar situation purchasing a multi-family place and wonder about installing onsite laundry.
