It's been a few years since I had buyers even look into it, but as I recall required the buyer getting contractor bids prior to closing to establish the loan amounts, and little reason for sellers to give a buyer a long window to investigate that and hope things come together when they can just accept a quick cash buyer offer. 

I'm planning to stick with AirBnB for future Boston trips (and I'll investigate others).

So, the things to investigate are right of redemption periods and the process for doing a formal foreclosure on a property that will become yours should the current ownership fail to cure the delinquent taxes.

I'd simply say that unless he can point me to a specific location so I can investigate the cause then it is likely just environmental. 

When they see you buy, see you rehab and put up for sale again in 3 months, and never move in, then they complain, and investigation probably starts. 

Now the DA is investigating affinity crimes in our church.

 *  I recommend you first investigate different markets around the U.S and then pick 3-5 markets that intrigue you most.  

The only people who make money with this are the people who are selling the life insurance.In all of my investigations of this, it has never penciled out for me.
