Your skills are going to help you tremendously in RE (and it's only a matter of time and experience before you get your contractor's license, I'll bet!)) 

I even trained with some of these guys, hung out with them, and felt like I was on par with them in sales skills when we would role play our scripts but they were killing it and I wasn't.My point here is this: I feel like I've been trying to fish in a small pond for far too long.

He's very successful and skilled, iv shadowed him on a couple occasions. 

It will be fun, exciting and very energizing.You already know not to fall for the up-sale, so leave your credit cards at home.Take copious notes, be open to all the strategies they will present and do some honest soul searching as to what feels like the best fit for your present circumstances, personality and skill set.

I think vacancy rate all depends on your property management skills.  

My education allowed me to leverage my skills and get a great w2 income .

Maybe it was skill and maybe it was beginner's luck but they don't know the difference yet.Same goes with my contributions here on BP.
