Hi BiggerPockets!

My name is Kamia Atkinson from Atlanta.  I am new to Real Estate Investing, and very excited and ready to learn.  I took a free Than Merrill Real Estate seminar a few weeks ago, and signed up for the 3 day course in the beginning of March.  I read the guide provided for the class, and started doing my own research online and lucked up on this site.  I know the upcoming 3 day course I will be taking will be laced with the strong encouragement to spend thousands of dollars on mentoring and coaching from them.  But now that I've found this site, I am very comfortable in knowing that I can learn what I need, and meet others with knowledge they are willing to share, without shelling out such and large amount of money!

I am still researching to determine what niche I want to focus on..... I initially thought that I wanted to start with wholesaling.  It sounds pretty straight forward, and if you find your buyers first and determine what their requirements are, I don't see how you can go wrong.  But, I need to do a little more research before I finalize that.  My initial thinking was to start with wholesaling to build up some cash, and then invest in rental property.  Any thoughts, views, or experiences with wholesaling would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to interacting with everyone.  I am a sponge and ready to learn!  I also would love to get to a point in my knowledge where I can help others.  Let the journey begin!

@Kamia Atkinson I took the 3day seminar in Chattanooga Tn in October of last year.  I have to be honest the 3 day seminar is well worth the price and they will also teach you just enough to be dangerous. Now the $25k and $35k is far too much when have people willing to help you and give advice for free like here on bigger pockets. The money they want you to spend should go towards your first deal instead of there education they are selling.
