Even with a CMBS loan, you can still lose everything you've invested (your time, money, energy, etc).we ran into this also in the mid 80s  I was a real estate broker working in SF Bay area at that time.. and this syndicator was my client.. but what was really tough were those that bought single family owner occ or non..
