Purchase price: $164,000 Cash invested: $7,000 Purchase a duplex cash flowing $500 and house hacking and a roommate right now while in military.

It is nice to find a house-hack deal like this where it's so lop-sided and you and living in such a small % of the overall building (rather than living in one of two identical sides of a duplex for example). 

lolI'm 24yo and am aboutto house hack a triplex, occupying 1 unit while renting out the other 2.There are alreadytenants in the other 2 units with no lease.Any advice for abeginner multi-family house hack would be appreciated!!

One of the reasons house hacking is often recommended is because it gets you experience in the transaction process and the result is a lower monthly housing expense as your form of cash flow. 

If you want to get rich quick or hack your way to success (i.e. - wholesaling), you will fail.

I just bought an SFR to house hack but cannot get any roommate leads-good or bad.

As I stated above, I’m a college student with a part-time job that doesn’t pay near enough for a 20% down-payment on ANYTHING, so an owner-occupied prop. with a 0-3.5% DP (such as a house-hack) makes sense.
