The tenant abandoned the property on me and refused to talk to me before he vacated except to say he would call the police if I brought any new prospective tenants over to show it.Now that I am in the collection phase and have just served him with an order to disclose his financial information, he saw that he could get arrested if he does not show up.

Those don't tend to be too tough on their own members.Its almost certainly not a criminal matter, so the police will blow you off.Seriously, if you want any real action, you're going to have to hire a lawyer and file suit against this guy.

(I do not see the background on this issue, so it is not clear to me if you have proof)I would speak with a good attorney, and even talk to the police about your concerns, just so that you are getting the proper advice for your situation.Some of the advice here could land you in trouble, even though it is meant to do the right thing.
