I really think that the use of bomb and drug sniffing dogs would be much more effective and less intrusive than the current measures at the airports.

The amount of house hackable 2-4 unit multifamilies drops off as you go SW of midway Airport. 

One guy picked up an old gas station with a couple acres near an airport, he simply fenced it in, got a van and undercut the long term parking, storing vehicles, not the same as mini's but he did well with it.

In Tampa you have the large airport and further south you have the international airport in Fort Myers.

I ride the Blue Line "L" and it will be near the Cumberland station near O'Hare Airport.

@Richard Williams think about my area - less than 4 hours from the Denver airport, cool city with the breweries and restaurants but right in Adventureland  - biking, hiking, rafting all nearby.  

I move to a tiny, tiny studio way out by LaGuardia airport that was super cheap.
