Once in a while a tenant will remain in a property forever, but rather than a positive it turns out to be a negative for the landlord because he allows the tenant to pay below market rent, usually considerably below market, so income is not maximized.

Every now and then a trust fund recipient that gets good monthly income, but has no money for down payment and sometimes bad credit....so they end up renting forever.
