Annoyed that I couldnt afford to live in CA, my wife and 1 year old moved to KCMO and bought a duplex.A near and dear friend from my church hinted of the fact of checking out RDPD by Kiyosaki, and thats when I made my commitment to become a full time REI by the time I hit 30.Looking forward to meeting people, and learning how I can help out the REI community.

While I would certainly not force a lady that old onto the street, especially given that she's done nothing wrong, she does have a place to go and I expect her to keep her commitment.In the short to medium term I can keep this afloat without the income, in the long term, I will end up defaulting if I can't get renters in there so I do have to take this seriously.The idea is to put pressure on the family to get them to stick to their commitment while having a minimal impact on the elderly lady.I guess what I'm looking for is to hear how other people would handle this complicated situation.

From what I can tell, false advertising is not only shady as hell, but is also illegal, and subject to enforcement by the FTC.Here's what I was able to dig up on 15 USC § 54 - False advertisements; penalties:or if such violation is with intent to defraud or mislead, be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment; except that if the conviction is for a violation committed after a first conviction of such person, partnership, or corporation, for any violation of such section, punishment shall be by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment:Perhaps you'll reconsider such tactics . . .

If you don't do this and just let the house go into foreclosure and you rent it out, you are committing fraud (rent scheming).
