Hey Guys/Gals,

My name is Jerone Hammond. I'm totally new to "Bigger Pockets". I actually just found this site this past Friday. I have always been interested in real estate and recently I have made up my mind to finally get off my butt and pursue it again. I currently work as an electrical engineer in the semiconductor industry and have been doing that since I graduated college 12yrs ago. I have a little bit of experience in real estate and a buddy and I bought our first house in college and rented out rooms to pay for the mortgage. Then back in 06 I bought my first condo from a friend who just wanted to get out and was tired of being a landlord. I ended rehabbing it and sold it myself on craigslist. In 07 another deal fell in my lap (partial completed rehab) and I was able to rehab my 2nd property. In both scenarios I was able to acquire those properties from people I knew and was able to make win win situations for both parties in both cases and make a decent profit to boot. I made an effort to do all the majority of all rehab work on both properties just to learn more and get more realistic expectations of timelines and quality of work. My father was an electrical contractor and I have spent a lot of time around residential construction so I have a decent knowledge base. Unfortunately that was my last deal. I was really motivated to continue doing more properties but I just couldn't find a good enough deal w/ my realtor and then became unmotivated thinking I could never find a good enough deal at least on the MLS. I have since remodeled about half my house and now getting the bug again along with really getting tired of the corporate life. I also own one rental property out of state which I pay a management company to manage. So I guess my interest would be rehabbing homes along w/ acquiring rentals when they make sense.

Jerone
