I tried going to the city a few years ago (prior to the new ADU guidelines) to add square footage to a fourplex but was denied because the property exceeded this ratio… so I’m curious to see whether the new ADU standards could help overcome this hurdle, since converting a garage to living space would mean an increase in square footage.

I’m looking for quality that will hold up to the abuse of rentals.
