I already got new floors, re-did the entire kitchen(painted kitchen cabinets, installed new quartz countertops, new backsplash, painted kitchen pantry doors, painted the entire first floor a nice color white, installed recessed lighting on the first floor).

Yeah generally the contractor will go over different types of shingles with you and aside from color and appearance the biggest difference is the years 20 year, 25 year, 30 year etc...I have never personally gotten a roof replaced through insurance so I don't know if the insurance dictates what "quality" of shingle they will pay for.

Most of it was no big deal, but we did have to open up some walls and ceilings so that they could make sure electrical was in conduit, fire blocking was in place, duct work was correct, etc.
