I don't do any of that and just log in to sites directly.There use to be a service where you could log into all your social networking sites in one shot but they would always have issues with the sites syncing up etc. and I found it too much to keep up with.These days I just have a few sites I keep a presence on and forget everything else.

To invest in another country you want to be comfortable first and foremost with that nation's stability, socially and economically (currency).

If they can't take notes or don't have a pen or a memory, not sure I need to hear from them.Besides, I can use them in social settings as well, my world doesn't revolve around a business deal. :)

Just keep a thought in the back of your head that if you plan to invest at home (read: Canada) a few things will differ from investing in the U.S.A - namely in the areas of finance, regulation and taxation.The good news is there is a small cadre of Canadians active here on BP, so when you arrive at a one-of-these-things-is-not-like-the-others moment, you can ask for clarification.

Do you know of any online communities like BiggerPockets where the main focus is Canadian real estate and real estate laws/practices etc. ?

Sometimes online references can't be trusted because I've had a dozen or so people ask that of me on another social website that I network on and I've politely declined due to the fact I haven't done any business with them to submit a valid referral.

When your local market is in an impossible market cycle, hence the amount of French, Canadians and others going to Florida.
