The affordable housing sector as many mentioned in this thread is still going strong, especially further south towards Auburn, Kent, Puyallup etc.

Also, @Charlie MacPherson moved to Maine but he knows the South Shore well. 

I've been active duty in the Army for the past 5 and a half years and I'm currently stationed in South Korea.

I'm not sure where you are located, but in the South there are TONS of these being built to accommodate all us Yankees moving down there with belongings that require a basement and finding homes built on slab.
