Military Investing to Veteran RE Career

Hey Everyone,

I'm Anthony and I'm originally from San Diego, CA. I've been trying to educate myself about Real Estate & REI for a while now. I'm really interested in learning how I could use my VA loan for a good REI deal or house hacking. I've been active duty in the Army for the past 5 and a half years and I'm currently stationed in South Korea. My terminal leave to come back home to San Diego is likely to be March 2021. I also finished all 3 courses to get my Real Estate license so I'm studying now to pass the state exam.

I know San Diego is a high cost market so I'm curious to know if anyone from the area has had any recent luck to find any great deals in this market or what strategies are working best. Also I would love to hear from those who made the transition from being in the military to being an agent, how hard the transition was, what to plan for, tips, etc.
