I still feel that the mold scare is mostly a scam.

Or leverage that if it is...ask AirBnb if that is what they would do without telling them who it is...and then tell this landlord that if you don't get your deposit back by X date, you are going to fill AirBnb in on the scam this landlord is doing to scam AirBnb out of their cut.

I found them to be a scam; the account I asked asked to put money in for my fee was a personal account.

This is not to say you can't get a great deal and sell for a profit and still be at or very near a market value that will appraise out.Selling a house for more money is simply a scam and in the end the property must appraise out for the buyer to refinance and if you suckered your buyer the chances of refinancing dropped.

Two scams here: First there is the $50 EIN fee.

I have invested with them and can tell you they are a legitimate syndicator and not a scam. 

But also don't go into working with someone and getting  scammed.
